What a CRUT suitability screen is, what the simulation compares, and how QuantiCRUT™ plans and reports work.

The screen

What it is and what it does

What is a CRUT suitability screen?

A CRUT suitability screen is a quantitative analysis of whether a charitable remainder unitrust is projected to leave a specific client better or worse off than the alternative they would actually pursue. QuantiCRUT™ tests the proposed trust against that alternative across 10,000 simulated market paths and reports the probability the trust comes out ahead, with the median dollar difference. It is decision support for the advisor's recommendation, not a substitute for it.

How is a suitability screen different from a CRUT deduction calculator?

A deduction calculator answers the IRS's question: the income tax deduction at inception. It says nothing about how the trust is projected to perform over its lifetime. A suitability screen answers the client's question — over the life of the trust, am I projected to end up ahead? — by simulating outcomes under market uncertainty and comparing them to the client's actual alternative.

What does the simulation actually compare?

The trust against the alternative the client would actually pursue: selling and reinvesting, holding and drawing income, or holding until death — which brings the basis step-up into the comparison. Each of 10,000 market paths runs the two futures side by side. The report shows the distribution of dollar outcomes, the probability the trust ends ahead, and the median difference.

Why does QuantiCRUT run two mortality bases?

Because longevity drives the outcome, and no single table fits every client. The screen runs both the IRS population table and an annuitant table — the one healthy clients tend to live on. A client who outlives the population table gets more years of tax-advantaged compounding inside the trust, and the comparison shifts. Running both bases brackets the outcome instead of betting the recommendation on one mortality assumption.

Who is QuantiCRUT for?

Financial advisors and planners fielding the low-basis concentrated-position question. QuantiCRUT™ is professional decision-support software: it informs your analysis and your recommendation; it doesn't make them. The PDF it renders is client-ready — an exhibit for your recommendation.

How access works

Can I screen a couple — a two-life CRUT?

Yes. The trust structure selector defaults to Single Life; choose Two Lives and entry fields for the second person appear directly above. Term and hybrid structures are available from the same selector.

What counts as a report?

One generated PDF is one report, including re-runs of the same client with changed inputs. A report is counted only when it renders successfully; a failed run costs nothing.

Where do I see my remaining reports?

In the app, on your account page — your plan, remaining reports, and expiry or renewal date.

Why was I logged out?

QuantiCRUT™ allows one active session per account. Signing in on a new device or browser ends the previous session. If you were logged out unexpectedly, your account was signed in somewhere else — sign in again to continue here.

How does the 72-Hour Pass work?

Access begins at payment and ends 72 hours later or after 5 reports, whichever comes first.

What is the disbursement memo?

A one-page memo generated with every report, stating the amount paid for the report (or its allocated cost under an annual license) and describing the service performed. It includes a blank Matter / Internal Client ID line for your own records — that entry is never transmitted to or stored by Proton Prep, and no client name appears on the memo.

How do I get support?
